munkeyin' around the gym
jesse, gus, & madison were jumpin and clickin their heels after the volleyball game last week, and they had so much fun posing for the camera =) my poor camera… i couldn’t find the charger during the big move and when i finally turned my camera back on, the left and right buttons don’t work anymore! that means that i can’t change the settings, so it’s stuck at 1M with the flash on. booo!!! i’m not happy about that. luckily, i can still take some pictures, although they’re not the quality i want them to be anymore. anyways, pictures will be a little sporadic from now on since i’ve stopped taking as many pictures.
anyways, this means that i’m in the market for a new camera. any suggestions?
This is mine:
IT’S PINK!!!!And has 7.2 megapixel and 3X optical zoom.
It’s a good, convenient little camera. I am spoiled by our big prosumer Sony so it’s hard to give a balanced review. But it’s PINK!
Sony makes good cameras. I highly recommend them, and I see that they’re coming out with a new 8 megapixel one soon that has a 3” touchscreen LCD. Interesting.
The best site on which to check out digital camera reviews is dpReview.com
Have fun!
Posted by laura on 10/25 at 06:53 AMI have the Konica Minolta Dimage G600, and I like it quite well. You can get it new for <a href="http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/from-froogle.asp?id=964592327&rf=froogle&dfdate=10_21_2005>$230 or so</a> (i got it from another website, i can’t remember where, for around $225 this summer) or a factory refurb for around $175. It’s 5mp, takes nice pictures, and allows you to change some settings. It also easily fits in your pocket.
However, I think the Canon PowerShot elphs are the gold standard in this area. They are small (the new ones are just tiny), take great pictures, have intuitive controls, and give you about as much flexibility with the settings as I think you’ll find in the pocket digicams.
Posted by BRY on 10/25 at 07:48 AMill agree with the black red yellow dood, the elph is great. and the powershots have the most flexibility as far camera settings.
and also an important thing, dont base your decision on megapixels. its highly, highly overrated. anything beyond 4mp is more than fine for great, quality pictures. the higher mp is for blowing up the pictures on a larger format and to allow editing on the magnified detail. it is true you will get a more detailed picture with higher mp, but the detail is only noticeable on magnified level. 3mp is the standard for enlarging up to 8x12, so anything above is great.
but if you want my opinion on a good handhelf cam: canon powershot sd500: its 7.1mp, and has the a new night display functions; pretty much brings more light to low light pictures. also the lcd is 2 inches. ya ya, i know i said all that stuff about megapixels, but it was just inteded to sway you not to buy a camera based on just the megapixels alone. there is a sd550, which is a little more expensive, and i think theyre pretty much the same, but the lcd is bigger. but ya, if i had the money id buy one, but i dont, hehe. oh ya, dont forget jordan’s bestbuy discount, hehe.
