knicks vs suns
so kat, ching, and i went to a knicks game tonight…
some people (rod!) were like, “how come you’re going to that game? it’ll be a blowout! won’t even be interesting!” and well… yeah, i would’ve agreed with him, but unfortunately, i don’t schedule the games for the knicks, and so we had to buy tickets to the one game that was scheduled during our vacation in NY. it was my first time in the garden, and even though it was old, i thought it photographed well (i like my last shot...) anyways…
i took a picture with my boy Q but unfortunately he didn’t play tonight cuz of injury? or something…
at the end of the 4th quarter the game was tied up - so we went into overtime. it was good cuz the knicks were leading the entire game by 6+ points, and then they lost the lead and were trailing by 4 points or so during the last few minutes, so it was nice to tie up the game and push it into overtime. plus, someone had just fouled out on the suns, so it seemed like we had an advantage… i say “we” meaning the knicks, cuz although i’m not a fan of either team i was watching, i was watching it in the knicks home court. well.... no… that’s not the real reason i was rooting for the knicks. i wanted them to win cuz i wanted the suns to lose, cuz the suns are the only team in our (by “our” i am referring to the clippers) division that is beating us, although we were leading up until last week or so. basically, i want the clippers to win and the suns to lose so that the clippers will reclaim their spot at the top of our division. at any rate, i was excited to watch a game in overtime - that always makes for a bit o’ excitement!
here’s the score at the end of the 5th quarter. yup, it was tied again! more excitement! more gameplay! double overtime! yay!!
and at the end of the 6th quarter… yes, the game is STILL tied! can you believe it? we went into triple overtime! yeah - 3 extra quarters! it was pretty amazing! by this time, two or three more suns had fouled out, and steve nash and a few others were all playing in foul trouble, each of them carrying 5 fouls. they had absolutely no fouls to give…
and here is the final score. after pushing it 3 times, the knicks were able to finally seal the deal and win by a 7-point spread. it was definitely an exciting game (oh, and this is the pic i’m talking about in the beginning - i really like the way the ceiling turned out in the photos).
so yeah, we watched a 7-quarter game and had alotta fun cheering on both teams’ dunks and listening to the commentary of the people around us. oh, and we got a free coupon for chipotle burritos! yay! what a great night!!! =)
